Alister Woodhouse   Angling Hero...."The Father"....Dennis White   Favourite Fish....Bream   Why did you become a coach...Well firstly because I love it. It gives me chance to ensure at least some young people have the chance learn how to fish correctly, and to set them on the road to take up fishing as a hobby.   Best angling experience....I have to say that every time a young person catches a fish for the first time. Gives me such a buzz.   I been asked to recall an angling story. There are so many but one does stick in my mind. I was coaching at Hallcroft in 2006 and had helped a number of young people during the morning. All had caught fish (some large ones too). For most it was their first experience of angling. I was asked to coach an adult. When I asked him if he had fished before he told me he fished regularly at Hallcroft. He knew all the methods. I was amazed to see him trying to cast with a 9 metre pole in the way you would with a rod and then strike a fish like he was using rod and reel. As he knew better than me I let him continue. He was the only participant of the day who did not catch.
