Thanks to Shoreline Housing Partnership and the Environment Agency funding, “Get Hooked on Fishing” has added another 6 Coaches to its ever growing list (Now totalling 18). Project Leader Mark is delighted. All passed successfully and are now set to bring on the next generation of anglers and wildlife lovers.
Importantly, 3 of the new Level I Coaches are young people (under 17) who have been on the Get Hooked on Fishing Courses and now deliver sessions to other young aspiring students.
Nathan Webster, one of the new coaches says, "When I joined the project I didn't think that I would ever be a coach. Now I am and I help other young people on the project. I work with team members who support me and I feel important. I cannot tell you how confident I feel. My practical angling skills have also been massively improved and in the future I want to fish is some matches to see how I do"
Just as important is that Karen Hagyard, a local Immingham based Lollypop Lady has become the projects first lady coach. Karen has been involved throughout the year with Immingham Pilgrims Junior Angling Club who meet at the Projects base "Homestead Lake" each Saturday. |
